Opening Ceremony of 7th Sports Meeting Held

 

On November 3rd, the 7th sports meeting of ZISU came to a start. Xuan Yong, the Party secretary and president Hong Gang attended the opening ceremony with other directors. Deputy secretary Zhao Fa  presided over the ceremony in both English and Chinese.


It was the first sports meeting since ZISU moved into the new campus. Compared with previous meetings, this one added an exquisite opening ceremony and splendid performances showcasing campus culture characterized as diversity, modern and elegance.

 

Xuan declared the opening of the 7th sports meeting.

 

Hong delivered an opening speech, highlighting that physical training was a vital organic component of the education cause. It played a crucial part in boosting students’ physical qualities as well as prospering distinctive campus culture.

 

In recent years, ZISU has made great efforts to develop traditional ethnic sports culture, actively introduce emerging sports projects and has already achieved outstanding accomplishments. The annual sports meeting and sports culture festival has become a remarkable event for ZISUers and also gained a considerable popularity among students and faculties.


Hong hoped that all athletes would race out of the result, level and style and all referees shall keep fair, just and open. All faculties and departments should guide spectators and provide integrated logistics support. All students and staffs shall take the sports meeting as the opportunity to respond to the slogan “Exercise an hour every day, healthy life for a lifetime”. Everyone shall participate in campus undertakings with a healthy body and enthusiasm. He also wished the sports meeting a great success.

ChenYangyang, a student from Educational Science Faculty, made a pledge on behalf of all athletes and Teacher Fu Jinfen represented all judges to take an oath.


On the ceremony, nearly 1000 undergraduates from 10 institutes entered for Tai-Chi and aerobics competition. Traditional lion dance, cheer leading and street dancing all represented distinctive sports culture in ZISU.


 In the following two days all the athletes will compete fiercely in 28 different events.
