Highlighted 3rd World Internet Conference

The third World Internet Conference•Wuzhen Summit has just got underway. But what has highlighted this year's event? The volunteers count, and they are crowned as “Little Plane Tree”, taken from “Planting plane trees to attract the Phoenix” representing an ancient Chinese legend, which teaches that hard work can pay off for a beautiful planet and a happy life.

This year, ZISU sent 108 international volunteers in 10 languages including English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Korean and German, together with 2 professional instructors. These volunteers had gone through selections and training. Nearly half of them had already served the G20 Hangzhou Summit this summer. 28 CCO (Chief Concierge Officer) volunteers had been there for nearly three months' comprehensive practical training in Wuzhen, and had already practiced in the Wuzhen International Theater Festival, ready for the high-level foreign guests’ reception. The other eighty were mainly distributed into groups of welcoming honored guests, reception of the hotel and medical treatment, and the reception of media and reporters. They helped visitors to get the most from the conference.

Wang Huilin, deputy secretary of Youth League Committee of Zhejiang Province came to the scene of volunteering to condole volunteers and guide the work. She sang high praise to our volunteers for the professional foreign language skills and steadfast attitude towards work. She also encouraged volunteering to work actively for the conference. Likewise, plenty of Medias paid close attention to our “Little Plane Tree” during the conference.

The third World Internet Conference, with a theme of "Innovation-driven Internet Development for the Benefit of All – Building a Community of Common Future in Cyberspace", took place in Wuzhen, Tongxiang of Zhejiang province from Nov 16 to 18.

President Xi Jinping made an important video speech to the conference and Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended in person and delivered an address. Some 1,600 people from more than 110 countries and regions and 16 international organizations gathered in Wuzhen to discuss the future of the Internet industry.
