ZISU held the 2015 “Chinese Bridge——French Middle School Students Fall Camp”

On the occasion of the 60 anniversary of ZISU, members of “Chinese Bridge——French Middle School Students Fall Camp” came to ZISU with curiosity and yearning, which added a beautiful scenery to the joyous campus.
President Hong Gang praised the French students’ choice of learning Chinese in the opening ceremony. He pointed out that language is the tool for our communication as well as the key to open to the foreign culture. It provided an invaluable civilization wealth to the whole world. France owns the largest Chinese learners in Europe, whose number reached 50,000. Chinese is a language with a long history and a promising future, and learning Chinese not only related to their personal growth, but also affects the people around them, even their recognition of the whole world.
At the second session of the Sino French cultural exchange week, French students experience some activities full of Chinese features and characteristics, such as traditional Chinese clothes, mask painting, calligraphy and shear tracery. Besides, they performed the carefully prepared programs under the guidance of the instructors, and the hot dance “Youth Practice Manual” jointly performed by Chinese and French students has put the atmosphere to a climax.
Through experience and task orientated teaching method, these French students combined enjoyment with learning and learning with practicing, thus make them fall in love with China and Chinese, which is also the main focus of this fall camp. In order to teach these French students in accordance with their aptitude, ZISU divided them into three classes. Following the previously popular teaching methods, Chinese teachers arranged listening & speaking class, Chinese character class and taught them songs to learn Chinese. Moreover, Chinese teachers guided French students to visit Wan song Academy, China Scissors & Sword Museum, China Fan Industry Museum, Museum of Chinese Umbrella, Hangzhou Canal Museum and Hangzhou Dish Museum. Language partners also take French students to go shopping, order meals, and help them learn how to bargain. French students also visited Zhejiang local folk music lab with great interest, and felt the charm of Zhejiang folkways under the guidance of Prof. Li Wenjun, director of the vocal music department.
The French students visited the West Lake, Meijiawu village, Qianjiang new city, the oriental pearl TV tower and Yu Garden......Although the activities in Fall Camp are limited, the splendid Chinese trip has left an infinite image and vision in French students’ minds.
In the closing ceremony, Ms. Martine Sauvaget, the French secondary school principal and Deputy Secretary General of Sino-France Education & Friendship Association, handed the “Sino-French friendship” commemorative poster from Hong Gang, the president of ZISU. She said with emotion: “Thanks for ZISU to give me and my team such a complete and heartful experience. We will depart with a beautiful memory, but the seed of friendship has been rooted. The sensation and perception gained from the trip to China will encourage the children to continue to learn Chinese, and the honor and dream of Sino-French communication will also continue.
