Hong Gang pointed out that “the Belt and Road” strategy was closely related to foreign languages, foreign language talents and foreign / international studies universities. Foreign / international studies universities have a pivotal position in “the Belt and Road” strategy, on the one hand, foreign / international studies universities should actively serve “the Belt and Road” strategy by training personnel and providing decision-making advice; On the other hand, foreign / international studies universities should take the strategic development opportunities in the service of “the Belt and Road” strategy, and further enhance their status and influence. Thus, in serving ”the Belt and Road” strategy, it is important to clarify foreign / international studies universities’ position, to find their paths of development and to communicate their experience, so that foreign / international studies universities can develop and grow by serving ‘the Belt and Road” strategy.
Hong Gang delivered an exchange speech with the title of “serve ‘the Belt and Road’ strategy and collaboratively construct university think tank”. Hong Gang believes that there are three main objects in ZISU’s participation of the construction of this think tank. The first object is to promote the theoretical innovation of “the Belt and Road” strategy; the second one is to promote the practical research of “the Belt and Road” strategy; the third one is to promote the talent cultivation of “the Belt and Road” strategy. As a local university, ZISU mainly carries out research in three aspects according to the needs of economic and social development of Zhejiang.
