Time flied and years passed without anybody’s notice. The 2015 graduation ceremony of ZISU was held in student activity center of Xiaoheshan Camus on June 12. The Graduation Ceremony of this year was divided into two parts according to different schools, and was held in the morning and in the afternoon respectively. The leaders present included Yao Chengrong, the Party secretary, Hong Gang, the president; vice Party secretary, Zhao Fa and Luo Bowei; vice president, Jin Yuncheng, Zheng Yali, Zhao Qingrong, Cao Renqing; secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, Lu Aihua; Party committee member Shen Gang, Zhang Jiansheng and Zhang Huanzhou. Directors from related schools and departments, teacher representatives and 1508 graduates witnessed this exciting moment. Vice Party secretary Zhao Fa presided over the ceremony.
This year, a total of 1508 students will graduate from ZISU, including 1209 undergraduates and 299 higher vocational students. Among them, 1464 students got their diploma, and 1177 students was conferred a bachelor’s degree; 55 students were awarded provincial outstanding graduates, and 236 was awarded ZISU outstanding graduates.
Hong Gang gave warm congratulations to all the graduates who successfully completed their studies and will bid farewell to their alma mater and step into the society. With full emotion, he said: “In the past three or four years, you accompanied the growth of ZISU and witnessed the development of ZISU. You have left your youth, beauty, ups and downs in the campus of ZISU. Every progress of ZISU is indispensable to your contribution, which made ZISU flourish and prosperous. You are the witness of ZISU’s history.
Hong Gang shared some personal feelings with the graduates. First, he hoped the graduates could stick to their dreams, and realize their dreams in a “determined” way; next, he hoped the graduates could be down-to-earth, and realize their dreams in a “practical” way; finally, he hoped the graduates could be good at learning and thinking, and realize their dreams in a “wise” way. He encouraged the graduates that if they could identity targets, seize opportunities, and make unremitting efforts, they will surely earn a place in the world. Hong Gang also invited the graduates to come back to attend ZISU’s 60th anniversary celebration.
On the eve of the graduation, the 2015 graduates launched the "my favorite teacher" selection activities. After the vote of the graduates, 32 “my favorite teachers” was elected, they are Hong Gang, Gao Wei, Ding Xinru, Chen Bingshan, Guan Bingbing, Tian Yiyong, Tong Yanfang, Gu Dapeng, Jia Xinming, Lu Weiping, Lv Hongfen, Yue Shenxian, Fu Changluan, Huang Jin, Gao Yabing, Chen Jin, Zhi Jingliang, Xu xiaoling, LinXiwei, Zhang Jian, Shi Qile, He Xiaorong, Li Hongliang, Tian Huangjia, Wang Danqin, Wan Jian, Ye Lijun, Zhang Yun, Chen Xiangwen, Zhao Hui, Ma Minhang. At the graduation ceremony, students made special honorary credentials to teachers with humorous messages, passionate signatures and creative paintings, which made the students and teachers present very touched.
He Huali from School of International Business and Gu Dapeng from School of Chinese Studies blessed the graduates on behalf of the awarded teachers. He Huali hope the graduates could be sincere and self-reliant all their lives. Gu Dapeng spoke from the university motto of “virtue, perseverance, erudition, practicality”, he hoped the graduates could cultivate themselves morally and be beneficial to the society.
Wu Yaoyao, a 2011 grade business administration major from School of International Business and Wang Huapeng, a 2011 grade Chinese language and literature major from School of Chinese Studies spoke on behalf of the graduates. They thanked the nurturing of ZISU, and will always remember its spirit and will strive to create a better and brighter tomorrow.
He Jukun, a 1988 graduate of biology major, now chairman of Hangzhou Tianju Company and former headmaster of Shaoxin Jianhu High School, and Zheng Zhihu, a 1987 graduate of physics major, now headmaster of Zhejiang Tiantai High School, spoke on behalf of alumni. They gave gratitude to the cultivation of alma mater, and gave blessing to their juniors, hoping they will stick to their dreams and forge ahead.
Zhu Liyun, the parent of Zhu Jing, a graduate from School of English Studies, and Hou Haiying, the parent of Liu Jianan, a graduate from School of Asian Languages and Cultures, spoke on behalf of graduates’ parents. They gave gratitude to ZISU’s cultivation of their offsprings, and rejoice their original choice of ZISU, and blessed ZISU to have a brighter future.
“Always remember the university motto of ‘virtue, perservance, erudition, practicality’, be honest, trustworthy, and unremitting self-reliant, mind homeland and act internationally, serve the society and realize the dream.” With the forceful and sonorous oath from all the graduates, the 2015 Graduation Ceremony came to an end.
After the graduation ceremony, a grand degree awarding ceremony was held. Party Secretary Yao Chengrong and President Hong Gang turned the tassel (shake hand), grant diploma (graduation certificate) for graduates one by one and took photos with them.
