ZISU Graduates Gave Gratitude to their Alma Mater

June is the season of graduation, when the campus is full of the distressed atmosphere of parting; June is also a season of gratitude, when the campus is haunted by the gratitude given to the alma mater.

The touching scenes of last year’s graduation season are lingering in our minds. When Shi Yuewen, a 2014 graduate of English major from School of English Studies, donated her 8000 Yuan of National Scholarship to school to sponsor those poor students, all teachers and students present were touched. In this year, many outstanding graduates also emerged; they expressed gratitude to ZISU’s cultivation in their own way by donating scholarship to school, and by donating painting, calligraphy works, sapling and sculpture to their alma mater.

Two 2011 grade English majors, Yu Jiahun from Class 6 and Wang Yue from Class 4, donated part of their scholarship to school. Zheng Xinyuan team form Class 1 grade 2011 of English education major and Yu Yue team from Class 5 grade 2011 of English translation major donated their bonus of national innovation and entrepreneurship projects to buy a sculpture from an art and craft master, in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of ZISU’s founding.

This kind of touching scene has emerged inevery school. In the “Erudition & Elegance—Pay Tribute to Outstanding Chinese Traditional Culture” graduation activities, two students from School of Arts, Chen Guang from Class 1 grade 2011 of fine art major and Huang Difang from grade 2012 of decoration art and design major donated their painting and calligraphy works in order to decorate the public environment of new campus.

Yu Yue, Yang Huan, Chen Yuhao, Wu Huanghua, Ren Jiajun, representatives of outstanding graduates of 2015 and members of team “The Status of International Spread of Animation Products in Zhejiang Province and Countermeasures” of 2014 National College Student Innovation Programs, planted saplings in alumni forest personally on June 12. This is the first sapling donated by alumni personally. The graduates planted the saplings in the soil of ZISU, along with their unforgettable memory of youth and their attachment to the alma mater.

The kindness of warm sun can’t be repaid by grass. Giving gratitude to the alma mater has become an important part of ZISU spirit, a cultural heritage of all ZISUers. It is sure that in the June of next year, more graduate will inherit this kind of gratitude and thanksgiving.
