Volunteers Expressed Their Sentiments and Feelings
During the exhibition, among the crowds in the exhibition hall and venue are “red vests” from ZISU. Sometimes they went to the airport and railway station to greet guests from various countries; sometimes they helped foreign businessmen to translate purchasing information; and sometimes they helped foreign exhibitors to communicate by translating. The eye-catching foreign language logos in front of and at the back of those “red vests” made foreign friends able to distinguish them as translation volunteers at the first glance. They have also become beautiful scenery during the fair, and were highly praised by the organizer and foreign friends. In order to fulfill this international volunteers task, ZISU carefully organized and sent 75 translation volunteers in 7 languages of English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese and Italian, and provided full translation service for Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair, and ZISU is the university who provides the most translation volunteers during this Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair.
Meet new friends: Not only friendship between individuals, but also friendship between countries
I opened my arms to embrace Dunta, and bid farewell to her gently: “Maybe it is the last time I could see you.” But this capable woman smiled and said to me, “It never be.” Danuta is an amber jeweler, who came here with jewelry designed by her husband to search for cooperation partners. Although I have visited her website in advance and have done the relevant preparatory work, there was still ambiguity and grammatical disorder in the process of interpreting. Fortunately, I became more and more handy in the following days, and my oral English have been greatly improved during the four days of the fair, I and Danuta turned into acquaintances from strangers, and into friends from acquaintances. I've been fortunate to be here, and realized that life is full of opportunities and coincidences, if you are willing to make efforts and to try, opportunities will come to you.

I met a lot of different Japanese during my experience of being an interpreter, for example, a president Mr. Sakiyama from Okinawa and his wife Mrs. Sakiyama. Although Mr. Sakiyama didn’t talk a lot, he is quite wise. Whenever he saw me standing, he would warmly ask me to take a seat and have a rest. Mrs. Sakiyama always gave me a sense of intimacy, like my mother. When we separated, I wrote her a short letter, and she hugged me in tears and said in my ear, “Min Min, when you come to Japan, no matter for study or for a travel, please come to visit us in Okinawa, we are your relatives in Okinawa.” I burst into tears. There is a boundary between China and Japan, but there isn’t any between our hearts. It is my glory to become an international volunteer, language has no border, and I hope we can make our modest contributions to Sino-Japanese friendship.

To be a better me: improve ourselves out of the classroom
Although I am an English major, I suffered a feeling of frustration at the beginning, because I was not familiar with the job. At that time, the idea “if only I had learned more carefully in university” always came to my mind. Fortunately, I gradually grasped the operating modes and methods in the following days, and was becoming handier in my work. My experience is that both the expertise and ability to solve problems independently are important. The “positive energy” earned in these days made me more confident and more courageous to meet every challenge in the future.

As a freshman, it is very difficult for me to help Portugal exhibitors translate business affairs. Whenever I couldn’t understand the exhibition demand, whenever I couldn’t translate words like wholesale, retail and containers, whenever I had to stop to ask for assistance during explanation, I was filled with the feeling: I still have so much to learn! Moreover, spoken language is really important. Language is a tool of communication, if we restrict language learning in words and texts recitation, it will be difficult for us to communicate well, only speak and practice make perfect.

A real helper: the true meaning of being volunteers
Although I am very tired after the seven day’s volunteer service, I feel very pleased when thinking of the effort I made and the gains I achieved in these days. Although I didn’t visit many interesting booths of other exhibitions pavilions during my volunteer service, I obtained a glow of satisfaction when I sent help and blessing to every consultant. Every time I came back from my service, I cannot help but write my feelings of the day in “moments”. Here, I would like to quote Bi Shumin’s words to express my feelings: Perhaps I am important, because on those who need help most I lit the fire of hope. I hope more people will join the youth volunteer service, not only to help others, but also to upgrade themselves.

In each of the volunteer service, I will bear in mind my responsibilities and obligations that must be fulfilled. In any case I will do them better, because this is my own choice, I have become mentally prepared; there is no reason for me not to do a good job. In fact, the task is not tiresome, even if it is, my heart always feels contented.
To be needed is a kind of happiness, that’s what I have felt and understood after doing the volunteer service. Regarding volunteer service as the lifestyle and content of life, willing to help those in need of help and willing to give love at all time, I think these are the true meaning of being a volunteer. What’s more, you can improve yourself when help others, why not do it?
