ZISU Volunteers served the Friendship Cities Exchange Conference between China, Japan and Korea

The 17th Friendship Cities Exchange Conference between China, Japan and Korea was held in Yiwu from Oct 12 to Oct 14. Nearly 400 representatives from China, Japan and Korea attended the conference.  This conference takes "the sustainable exchanges and the international development of cities " as the theme, and had a profound discussion on topics of mutual concern, such as culture, tourism, small and medium enterprise development, and seek mutual development of Northeast Asia. Invited by Foreign Affairs Office of YIwu Municipal Government, ZISU International volunteers served as translation volunteers and participated fully in the translation accompany and guidance service for foreign guest during the conference. The Youth League Committee and School of Asian Languages and Cultures carefully organized and sent 20 international volunteers of Japanese majors. These volunteers overcame their difficulties and began to prepare for work in an early stage, they attended the training session organized by the host and made familiar with the meeting place in advance. During the conference, ZISU volunteers stuck to their position, greeted the arrival of foreign guests, translated the process and notice of this conference, guided guests to their venues, accompanied the foreign guests to visit, and saw foreign guests off at the airports or railway stations, and they successfully met the demand of the host.
It is reported that the Friendship Cities Exchange Conference between China, Japan and Korea was originated in 1999; it is co-sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, The Council of Local Authorities for International relations of Japan, and Council of Provincial and Municipal Governors of Korea, and rotated annually between China, Japan and Korea. At present, this conference has become an important platform for local governments in China, Japan and Korea to participate extensively, learn mutually and develop collectively.
