On October 22nd, the West Lake Friendship Award was held in Provincial Great Hall of the People. Doctor Shao Beide, director of Shanghai office for Sino-Germany project and Irina Breslavskaya, music teacher from School of Arts, won the award. Vice president Cao Renqing, presented the award and warmly congratulated them together with more than 20 foreign representatives.

Che Jun, vice secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, expressed his gratitude and noted that Zhejiang has long considered the help of foreign experts very important and, that their support has helped the economy grow. He demanded that all units develop projects to attract talented people and have policies to improve their work and lives in Zhejiang, and that these measures should provide talents for accelerations in the upgrade of economic transition and development of a well-off society in an all-round way.

The West Lake Friendship Award is the province’s highest honor for foreign experts there and a way of showing its appreciation for their contribution to economic and social development.
