The “Dream Start” welcoming party for freshmen was held in the Dream Auditorium of Xiaoheshan Campus on Sep 29. The Deputy Party Secretary Luo Bowei and Vice President Zheng Yali watched the performance along with more than 900 freshmen.
The party was divided into four parts of “virtue”, “perseverance”, “erudition” and “practicality”, and was opened by an exciting light show and the street dance performance performed by New Dancer Street Dance Club. The welcoming party was rich and colorful, full of climax of excitement and atmosphere of joy. The programs include multi-language medley “connecting”, which reflects the foreign language characteristics of ZISU; there are the medley of “best singers of ZISU” and modern dance “foam”, which reflect the art construction achievement of ZISU; there are dance “eternal love of West Lake”, which helps freshmen to taste the unique charm of Hangzhou and modern drama that reflects the unique mental outlook of students. ZISU Wushu Team, who has won many domestic and abroad awards, has brought a fantastic Wushu performance for freshmen, and pushed the party to a climax.
The freshmen are not resigned to playing a second fiddle. The fabulous yo-yo performance performed by Huang Siyao of School of Asian Languages and Cultures and the B-box performance brought by a Tibetan student Tenzin Tsewang instantly pushed the party to another climax accompanied by the rhythm of music; ten freshmen from Tibet expressed their beautiful dreams toward the future life and their unique culture in singing and dancing. Those new foreign students and teachers, as the special “freshmen”, brought the interactive game “Where do I come from?”, and showed the unique cultures of different countries in the form of Q&A. The welcoming party came to an end accompanied by the valiant figure of drillmasters and clears songs of ZISU chorus.
After the party, leaders of ZISU saluted all the performers, and had cordial exchanges with the freshmen performers. Director from related departments, counselors, foreign teachers and students watched the performance.
