The 19^th debating Competition of ZISU was concluded

Recently, the 19^th debating competition of ZISU was held on Xiaoheshan Campus. Professor Zhou Mingqiang from School of Chinese Studies, Zhou Mingbao, tutor of ZISU debating team, associate professor Mao Weirong and teachers Zhu Meng from Department of Social Sciences, Wang Linpu from School of Educational Science as well as the director from The Youth League Committee attended the competition and served as judges.

The first round was the battle for the third place, during which the affirmative side School of Science and Technology was against opposition side School of English Studies with the motion “English should/should not be excluded from required courses in compulsory education”. The next was the exhibition round between ZISU and Zhejiang University of Science & Technology with the motion “Life is joyful/sad because it can’t be repeated”. The last round was the battle for the championship, during which the affirmative side School of Educational Science was against opposition side School of Chinese Studies with the motion “Micro-blog opinion leaders is good/harmful for elevating audiences’ cognition standard.” Debaters of sides won the applause of the audiences with their wisdom and sparkling discourse.

Finally, School of Educational Science won the championship and School of Science and Technology is the runner-up, and third place goes to School of Chinese Studies. School of Arts was awarded “best organization prize”, and Li Qin from School of Chinese Studies was awarded “best debater”.
