On September 20, our university made full preparations for the orientation reception work of 2014 freshmen. All the departments of our university have taken positive actions and striven to make 2014 freshmen be able to feel the warmth of the new family and to exert upward positive energy of youth. Our university key leaders, the Party Secretary Yao Chengrong, President Hong Gang, deputy Party Secretary Zhao Fa, and vice President Zhao Qingrong patrolled the orientation sites and examined the detailed information of the freshmen’s registration.
Yao Chengrong fully affirmed this year’s orientation work. He said this year’s orientation work was orderly carried out and created a very good atmosphere for highlighting the theme of encouraging students to spend four years of happy campus life. In the freshmen’s parents lounge area, Yao Chengrong cordially exchanged with freshmen’s parents introducing the history and development of our university and disciple construction. In the administration building hall, Yao Chenrong carefully examined the contents of the exhibition for our Professors’ styles. He believes that this activity is very meaningful, for our Professors’ styles show is good for students to understand our teachers and also let our teachers approach our students, showing the styles of our university’s “Dream-Builders”.
In Bozhou Cultural Exchange Hall, Yao Chengrong inquired about the project in detail, and personally wrote an inscription "Responsibility, Integrity, Etiquette" so as to encouraging the entrepreneurial team and all our students to take the responsibility, to worship integrity and to observe etiquette in the light of "the unity of knowledge and action, culture nurturing, and integrity education".
In the School of European and Asian Languages and cultures, Yao Chenrong said emotionally, the purposes of this school is to serve students, help each other, and strengthen the construction of service-oriented party organizations at the grass-roots level, fully embodying the progressiveness of Party members and the purpose of moral establishment and people cultivation.
Our president, Hong Gang, kindly asked some of the freshmen about their feelings of stepping into this new campus, and what they think of our campus environment, the living conditions and the orientation service work. He also encouraged all the freshmen to cherish the happy four-year campus life so as to become not only talents, but also socially useful persons. In volunteer service area, Hong Gang also showed special concern for our student volunteers, encouraging them to set an example for all freshmen by becoming a model zisuer of the spirit stated in our university motto of “Virtue, Perseverance, Erudition and Practicality”.
In our Xiaoheshan Campus, our deputy secretary Zhao Fa, welcomed orientation scene, directing the reception work and fighting side by side with the orientation staff.
Our vice President, Zhao Qingrong, visited the orientation reception areas for several times, and cordially chatted with freshmen’s parents and reception staff. As the founder of The Voice of The Quiet Garden, Zhao Qingrong, signed his name on the recruiting service site for the new members of our university broadcast station.
The deputy director of The Xiaoheshan Higher Education Zone, Chen Lei, also visited the whole orientation reception area in our Xiaoheshan Campus, and spoke highly of our orientation work. He said that ZISU’s leadership had attached great importance to the orientation work so its arrangement is reasonable and orderly for creating a thick cultural campus atmosphere and a warm home for all freshmen. What has impressed us most is the unique exhibition of our professors’ styles, showing the harmonious relationship between our teachers and students.
